Bhubaneswar: The Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar issued heavy to very heavy rainfall warning for 13 districts of Odisha today. As per the latest forecast, heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Malkangiri, Nuapada, Kalahandi and Bolangir.

Rainfall warning has also been issued for Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundergarh, Bargarh, Sonepur, Rayagada, Kandhamal and Boudh districts, informed Madan Mohan Das, duty officer, Regional Meteorological Centre.

Already several parts of Odisha witnessed rainfall activity in the past 48 hours. Keonjhar district recieved highest of 66.5 mm rainfall in the last 24 hours. However, Balasore so far has received a decificent rainfall of 49% followed by Gajapati at 47%.

Das informed that the overall rainfall activity will increase from August first week as a low pressure system is likely to form over Bay of Bengal by July 31.
