Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday predicted that the maximum temperature (Day temperature) is likely to rise by around 2 degrees C during the next 48 hours and it will decrease by 2-3 degrees after three days over the districts of Odisha.

Similarly, the maximum temperature will be above normal by 4-6 degree Celsius at many places over the districts of Odisha during the next three days.

Several parts of Odisha continue to reel under the grip of an intense heat wave with mercury breaching 41 degree Celsius in the past 24 hours in as many as eight places in the State.

On Monday, Titlagarh recorded the highest maximum temperature of 42.2 degrees, followed by 42 degrees in Baripada, 41.5 in Bolangir, 41.2 in Jharsuguda and 41.1 degree Celsius in Angul.
