WILL HEATWAVE MAKE A COMEBACK IN APRIL?

As per the country's niche ocean research organisation, the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology's, CGEPS (MME) forecast, southern Odisha will witness heatwave like conditions on April 7.

The prediction shows that coastal districts like Cuttack, Bhubaneswar and some interior places in the State may record temperature of around 40deg C during the period of April 13-16.

No forecast of heatwave prediction for the coastal region, including Bhubaneswar has been made till April 26.

However, districts like Sundargarh, Jharsuguda and Sambalpur are predicted to record a maximum day temperature of around 40 deg C on April 26, the IITM model predicts.

An analysis of heatwave prediction for the month of April reveals that southern Odisha is predicted to record more number of days with heatwave like conditions.
