Berhampur: In a bid to strengthen the fight against Coronavirus, Ganjam district administration commenced a health checkup drive in the district for the COVID-19 patients who have already recovered from the disease.

As per reports, the re-test drive includes ASHA workers, ANMs and Ayush Doctors. As many as 40 teams of Berhampur Municipal Corporation will be conducting door to door health checkups of all the recovered patients in each wards of the silk city.

The teams are armed with oxymeters, thermal scanners and other equipments for examining respiratory condition, fatigue, symptoms of common cold, cough and the overall health of patients who have recovered from COVID-19.

Moreover, all the patients and their family are being advised to inform the ANM in case of any exigencies.

Besides, the team will also advise recovered patients below 60 years of age into donating their blood plasma that can be used for treatment of severely ill patients.

“I got myself infected while I had gone to attend the last rites of my late father-in-law. I was lodged at Parala Maharaj Hospital and the treatment was up to the mark,” said a woman who had just recovered from COVID-19.
