Jagatsinghpur/Kalahandi/Nabarangpur: The State Vigilance department on Monday raided the houses and offices of three government officials of different departments on charges of accumulating assets disproportionate to their sources of income.

Acting on a tip-off on the assets of Junior Engineer (JE) Dipti Prakash Swain of Central Electricity Supply Utility of Orissa (CESU) under Jagatsinghpur Electrical Division, a team of Vigilance officials carried out simultaneous raids at his office and residence today morning.

As per reports, searches were conducted at five places including Swain's house in Mangala Colony, his paternal house at Bisipitel village, a market complex at Gandhi Chhak and his CESU office.

Similarly, the officials of anti-corruption wing raided the houses of Junagarh Forest Range Officer Laxman Sabar in Kalahandi district today for allegedly possessing disproportionate assets.

Reportedly, a team of Vigilance officials of five districts under the supervision of Kalahandi Vigilance DSP Satyaban Mahananda carried out simultaneous raids at Sabar's ancestral house at Ladugaon and in-laws house at Tunagaon in Kokasara block of the district and his range office at Junagarh.

Since searches were still on at other places, the total amount of assets unearthed is yet to be ascertained, said an official.

Another government official, Niranjan Jena, Junior Engineer (JE) of Raighar block in Nabarangpur district also landed in Vigilance net over a DA case.

As per reports, the anti-graft sleuths conducted raids at four places including Jena's residence at Kalarahanga, two house- LIG -70 and K2-104 in Kalinga Nagar in Bhubaneswar. Similar searches were also conducted at his residence in Umerkote and block office at Raighar in Nabarangpur district.
