Bhubaneswar: Former chief of Haryana BJP, Prof Ganeshi Lal on Tuesday took oath as the Governor of Odisha. Chief Justice of Orissa High Court, Vineet Saran administered the oath of office to Lal at a special function held at Raj Bhawan in Bhubaneswar today.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi and other dignitaries were present during the swearing-in ceremony.

Bihar Governor Satya Pal Malik was holding additional charge as Odisha Governor from March 21 after veteran Naga leader, SC Jamir completed his tenure.

On May 25, President Ram Nath Kovind appointed Lal as the new Governor of Odisha.
