Four Goods Vehicles Seized For Flouting GST Norms

Nabarangpur: The Commercial Tax and GST Enforcement squad of Bhawanipatna seized four vehicles near Papadahandi in Nabarangpur district on Friday for allegedly flouting GST norms.

As per reports, a team led by Deputy Commissioner Tapan Padhi was acting on a tip off at Mriga Vihar under Papadahandi block, when they intercepted four vehicles including three pickup trucks and a lorry for allegedly flouting GST norms.

Asked to furnish the papers regarding the goods they were carrying, the drivers could not produce sufficient proof of the same.

"We were conducting mobile checking near the area when we spotted four goods vehicles, the occupants of which could not produce the relevant papers pertaining to GST," said Padhi.

"Even the destination mentioned in their papers seemed to be incoherent as they were headed towards a different area," added Padhi.

The squad later reportedly sent notice to the owners of the vehicles regarding violation of the tax.
