Former MLA Jogesh Singh among 4 persons injured in road mishap

Angul/Sambalpur: Four persons including former Sundergarh MLA Jogesh Singh were injured in a road accident near Khandanali, 15 km from Angul, in the wee hours today. The mishap occurred when Singh along with three others was travelling from Sundergarh to Bhubaneswar.

Following the incident, some locals present at the spot detected smoke emanating from the car and immediately rescued Singh and others. Later, the car caught fire and was completely gutted.

Subsequently, all the injured were rushed to the Angul hospital and later they were shifted to a hospital in Bhubaneswar. Health condition of all of them is stated to be stable.

While it is yet to be ascertained how the car caught fire, police have launched an investigation.

In another incident, as many as 30 passengers sustained injuries after a bus they were travelling in collided with a truck near Chakuli on Bargarh-Sambalpur road last night. As per reports, the injured were admitted to the Burla hospital.
