Kalahandi: Vigilance officials today raided the house and property of the former BJD MLA of Bhawanipatna Anam Naik on charges of amassing disproportionate assets.

The anti-graft sleuths of Bhawanipatna division conducted simultaneous raids in two places including Naik’s residence at Nakatiguda and his hotel in Madanpur Rampur area of the district, informed Kalahandi Vigilance DSP Satyaban Mahananda.

The exact amount of assets unearthed will be known after the raids are completely over.
Earlier in 2016, Naik was under Vigilance scanner after he and three other MLAs of BJD were caught seeking bribe for facilitating setting up of industries in their respective constituencies from a man posing himself as an industrialist in a sting operation.

Naik was denied ticket by the BJD in 2019 general elections.
