Bhubaneswar: After the launch of flight services to Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok, air travelers will soon be able to enjoy flight connectivity to Dubai and Sharjah from the Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar.

According to sources, Indigo has already finalised its route plan for direct air connectivity to Dubai from November 1.

However, the bookings for the Indigo flights to Dubai and Sharjah are yet to begin.

“AirAsia will start flights to Bangkok. We are speaking to various airlines to start more domestic flights and also international flights to Middle Eastern countries. We are expecting to get flights to Dubai and Sharjah soon,” informed BPIA Director, Suresh Chandra Hota.

Meanwhile, AirAsia flight to Bangkok will fly three times a week from Bhubaneswar airport and tickets are being offered at around Rs 5, 083.

Earlier on December 10 last year, Air India had started flight operations to Bangkok but it was stopped after some time.

On the other hand, Indigo has started bookings for its first flight to Guwahati in Assam from Bhubaneswar scheduled for October 28.
