Families Clash Over Laying Of Pipe, 2 Dead, 14 Injured

Puri: Two people lost their lives and as many as fourteen others received injuries in a clash between two families over a trivial incident at Dimirisena village under Brahmagiri Police Limit here on Sunday.

Seven of the injured are reported to be critical. The deceased have been identified as Suria Bhoi and Kalia Bhoi.

According to reports, an altercation broke out between two families of the village over laying of a water pipe. The situation went out of control when members of both the families attacked each other with sharp iron rods and axes.

Two people succumbed to the attack while 12 others were injured during the incident. All the injured were admitted to Rebana Nuagon Community Health Centre. However seven of the critical were shifted to Puri later.

Informed, Brahmagiri Police rushed to the spot to control the situation. Further investigation about the matter is underway.
