Ganjam: With growing number of fake teachers being exposed in Ganjam district, concerns have been raised on the quality of education imparted.

According to sources, many have got appointment as teachers by submitting fake certificates from matric to graduation. Some RTI activists, who had levelled the allegations earlier, are now questioning how the authorities appointed them without proper verification of documents.

Expressing concern over the rising number of fake teacher appointments, an RTI activist, Samarjit Mohanty said, “Imagine what our kids will learn. After working for many years, when they will face investigation it will be a big trouble not only for them but also for the concerned authorities.”

As per reports, only in Dharakote block of Ganjam, seven fake teachers have been identified so far following which they have been dismissed and FIRs have been lodged against them. Apart from that seven teachers have submitted their resignation citing different reasons.

Ganjam District Collector, Vijay Amrit Kulange said that certificates of all the school teachers including those who have resigned will be verified.

“It will take a long time to verify documents of all the teachers, but we have dismissed several teachers and lodged complaint against them,” said Kulange

Dharakote Block Education Officer, Rabindra Panda said, “As per collector’s orders, FIRs have been lodged against four persons. Complaints will be lodged against three more persons.”
