Keonjhar: As many as 12 junior teachers have been issued show cause notices for allegedly submitting fake B.Ed certificates to get teacher jobs in Odisha.

Keonjhar District Programme Coordinator, Purna Chandra Sethi said, “We have identified 12 teachers across eight blocks here, who have furnished fake B.Ed certificates to get jobs. We have issued show cause notices and asked the concerned officials to file FIR against them within seven days,”

The matter came to the fore after scrutiny of the certificates submitted by those received appointment as junior teacher under Sarba Siksha Abhiyan in the last years begun recently following the State government's direction.

Earlier in May, Aska Police had busted a major fake certificate racket by arresting five persons including the kingpin and two fake teachers.

The racket was busted by police while investigating a complaint filed by Aska Block Education Officer (BEO) Krutibash Barik who had alleged that two assistant teachers – Gaurishankar Jena and Dayanidhi Parida – got government job by submitting fake certificates.
