Keonjhar: With only two days remaining for filing of applications for Plus Two courses, several students and their parents gheraoed the Keonjhar Tehsil office on Monday after they failed to get caste certificates required for the Plus Two form fill up.

According to reports, the students and their guardians gheraoed the Tehsil office and alleged that they are facing acute problem to get caste certificate, income certificate and resident certificate as the Tehsildar is absent for last several days. On the other hand, the Additional Tehsildar who is in-charge now, has been alleged of favouring some students, as such other students are deprived of the documents.

“We have been coming to Tehsildar’s office for the caste certificate for last several days, but in vain. While the Tehsildar is absent, the Additional Tehsildar is issuing the certificates to some students as per his wishes,” alleged Syamasudar Ray, a student’s father.

“We have no clue what needs to be done. If we fail to get the necessary documents, the students will not be able to fill the forms as the last date for filing applications is June 20,” he added.

Administration is yet to respond to the allegations.
