Rayagada: At a time when ticket asiprants continue to throng Naveen Niwas to hand over their profiles to BJD supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, the ruling party seems to be grappling with serious challenge in the form of exodus of disgruntled leaders ahead of the crucial general elections.

After Nilagiri MLA Sukant Nayak, another sitting MLA from Gunupur Trinath Gomango today resigned from BJD. Nayak had earlier tendered his resignation from primary membership of the party on March 15.

While resigning from the primary membership of BJD, Gomango alleged that a ploy was being hatched against him to deny ticket in the upcoming elections.

In his resignation submitted to party chief Naveen Patnaik, Gomango stated that despite pressure from some party leaders in the district, he neither was not involved in any kind illegal activities nor did not gave any scope to others to induldge in any wrongdoings.

“However, when I opposed them, a conspiracy was hatched by those leaders to oust me from the party,” alleged Gomango.

Gomango further stated despite apprising the matter to the CM and his private secretary VK Pandian, his appeals went unheard. Gamango in his resignation too slammed the CM for neglecting the tribals of the region.

“I was in Bhubaneswar and without my knowledge the district party leaders organized a rally with a retired officer of Supply Department Raghunath Gomango. The party is planning to allocate ticket to him. This is injustice and I felt insulted. The party said that the tickets would be allotted depending on the work one has done in their respective areas,” said Gomango adding that the party didn't even bothered to inform him on what grounds plans were being made to deny him a ticket.

Meanwhile, the senior leaders of BJD could not be contacted over Gomango’s allegations.
