Bhubaneswar: Following the prediction of Friday exit polls, talks are now doing rounds that the political scenario in Odisha could see a major change in the upcoming elections. While the State unit of Congress has been encouraged with the prediction, the BJP said that the morale of its leaders has become stronger.

Going by the exit polls, PCC working president Pradeep Majhi said, “An anti-BJP sentiment is gaining ground and Congress is winning in the States which are considered the fort of the saffron party. The similar sentiment for Congress will flow into Odisha as well and subsequently the path will be created.”

Begging to differ, BJP State vice-president, Samir Mohanty said, “PM Modi’s development activities will show its magic in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. I am quite hopeful BJP will form government for the fourth time in Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan.”

Meanwhile, the BJD held strong that the situation in Odisha is different, terming the recent Bijatala by-poll a ‘trailer’ of the complete movie.

BJD vice-president, Surya Narayan Patro said, “Development has taken the centre stage and BJD is working in that direction. The Bijatala by-poll shows the complete political scenario in Odisha.”
