Bhubaneswar: Shuchi Singh, an allied officer working with the Indian Railways, has brought harassment charges against her husband and IAS officer Samarth Verma. At present, Verma is posted as Sambalpur Collector.

In her Facebook post, Shuchi alleged that her husband and IAS officer Samarth Verma has been physically and mentally harassing her and also interfering in her exam prospects.

“He (Samarth) is trying to destroy my career by illegally accessing my official records. He has also tried to sabotage my career prospects by not allowing me to appear in the civil services exam peacefully since their marriage,” Shuchi wrote in her Facebook post.

Shuchi further alleged, "The reason for all this is because he inflicted domestic violence on me. He is also trying to threaten my family members by lodging fake police case against them."

Shuchi has also sought intervention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik and Ministry of Women and Child Development demanding stringent action against Verma.

When contacted, Verma refuted the allegations levelled against him by his wife.
