Engineering Graduate Found Begging On Puri Badadanda Returns Home

Puri: A former engineer who was found begging on Puri Badadanda and eventually hogged the headlines, returned to his family on Sunday.

Girija Shankar Mishra, who by profession is an engineer and even worked in a multinational company, but resorted to begging, suddenly became a sensation after his identity and family background was revealed on Saturday, thanks to a brawl between him and a rickshaw puller.

His flawless English in the complaint report drew immediate attention and upon enquiry he revealed that he was a plastic engineer and pursued the course at Central Institute of Plastic Engineering and Technology (CIPET) in Bhubaneswar.

After getting information about him, Girija’s family members reportedly took him back to his home in Bhubaneswar on Sunday.

Notably, as per his own declaration at the police station, he belongs to a well-to-do family and his father was a police officer.
