Bhubaneswar: Brushing aside all speculations and discussions, the ruling-BJD president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today clarified that his party will contest the upcoming general elections on its own without any alliance.

Responding to queries fielded by mediapersons, the chief minister said, “We will fight the elections on our own.”

When questioned about the candidate selection criteria and the abundance of ticket aspirants in BJD, Patnaik also clarified that ‘winnability’ is the sole criterion for selection of party candidates.

Meanwhile, Pradeep Disari, who contested election on Congress party ticket from Lanjigarh Assembly constituency in 2014, joined BJD along with his supporters today in presence of the Naveen Patnaik.
