Bhubaneswar: Extensive security arrangements have been made in Bhubaneswar and Khurda in view of President Ram Nath Kovind's visit to Odisha tomorrow.

Reviewing the security measures, interim Director General of Police Satyajit Mohanty on Thursday said, "As many as 30 platoons of police force have been deployed for the President's visit. During the event, focus will be given on the security of VIPs, proper arrangements at the venue and traffic control."

Sources said the security arrangements for the President have been made in accordance to the guidelines of the Blue Book. Police also conducted a carcade rehearsal from the Biju Patnaik International Airport to Raj Bhawan in the capital city today.

As per the official itinerary, the President will reach airport at 7 PM tomorrow and will head straight to Raj Bhawan where he will spend the night.

On December 8, the President will lay foundation stone of Paika Rebellion Memorial at Barunei hills in Khurda to mark the completion of 200 years of the uprising which is considered as the first war of Indian Independence. Kovind will also attend a general meeting and deliver a speech at the venue.

Later in the day, he will attend the valedictory ceremony of Platinum Jubilee celebration of Utkal University at 12:35 PM. In the evening, the President will return to Delhi.
