EC flying squad seizes over Rs 2 lakh cash, election posters in Rourkela

Rourkela: In a surprise raid today, EC flying squad seized over Rs 2 lakh cash along with huge quantities of election campaign materials from a hotel in Sector-4 in Rourkela.

Acting on a tip off, the flying squad raided Ananda Bazaar Hotel located in Sector-4 under Raghunathpali Assembly Constituency in Rourkela. Along with the cash, the flying squad seized election campaign materials of the ruling BJD.

As per reports, the miscreants were using the hotel as their office and carrying out election campaign-related works.

"We received the information from sources about money changing hands inside the hotel following which a flying squad launched a surprise raid and seized the money and election campaign materials," said Nodal Officer, Biswaranjan Ratha.

Police have launched a probe into the incident.
