Earthquake tremors felt in parts of Odisha

Sambalpur: Earthquake tremors were felt in several parts of western Odisha including Sambalpur, Kuchinda, Deogarh, Rourkela, Bonai and Jharsuguda around 05:48 PM today.

As per reports, strong tremors were felt for few seconds following which people started to come out of their residences in the affected areas. "I was studying at home when our house started to shake. Later, all my family members came out of the house," said a Jharsuguda resident Lizalin Nayak.

Another resident Indramani Nayak said, "TV, fridge and furnitures started to shake following which everyone in my house started to run out of the house. The experience was very scary."

As per latest reports, there has been no damage to property or casualty in any of the places. More details including magnitude of the earthquake are awaited.
