Dry Run For 3rd Phase Of Covid-19 Vaccination Underway In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: As Odisha gears up for the third phase of Covid-19 vaccination, the dry run for the immunisation activity began in the Capital City on Saturday.

The massive exercise got underway a couple of days before the vaccination of 18 to 44 age groups in the State.

According to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhary, the dry run is conducted to ensure a smooth vaccination process throughout the State.

“Registered people will only be vaccinated from May 3. The Dry run is being conducted to fix the technicalities of the process before the third phase of the vaccination begins,” said Chaudhury.

The appointment of slots for the vaccination will be fixed from this afternoon. The drive will be conducted in all the government hospitals in the first phase. Those less than 44 and above the age will be administered the Covid-19 jab simultaneously and separate arrangements will be made in the hospital for both the groups.

Meanwhile, as per the order of the Odisha government, 1.5 lakh Covaxin vaccines have reached the State.

“The third phase of the vaccination will start from Monday in the state. In order to fix the technical issues and software order, we have conducted a symbolic dry run in Bhubaneswar today,” said Chaudhury.

“People will be given slots for vaccination as per the registration and we will allot them slots in the afternoon. As per the allotted slots, people can reach the vaccination centre and take the covid-19 jabs. Workplace vaccination will also be conducted as per the plan,” he added.
