Bhubaneswar: Another 10 lakh farmers in Odisha will be provided financial assistance under the KALIA scheme, informed chief secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi after presiding over a meeting held in secretariat today. Padhi said that the administration will ensure that no farmers in the State are left out under the KALIA scheme.

Padhi further said "The draft list of the beneficiaries will be announced on March 1 after which the verification will be undertaken. Discussions were also held to release the second instalment to the farmers under KALIA scheme."

Recently, the State Cabinet had decided to extend the benefits of KALIA scheme to 10 lakh additional farmers of the State. The meeting today discussed the preparation of list of eligible farmers and also the transfer of second instalment to the farmers who have already been identified.

Earlier on January 26, the State government released financial assistance to around 12.45 lakh farmers in the State in the first-phase of the KALIA scheme.
