Balasore: In today's competitive world where survival of the fittest is the only mantra, often people are finding it difficult to follow the heart and mind both at the same time, due to which finding the right balance between profession and passion is really tough. While many compromise with their zeal under sheer pressure of career and other needs, some others don't hesitate to ditch their jobs to pursue their dreams.

But Dr Sambit Kumar Das of Odisha is an exception to this. A medicine specialist of Government Medical College and Hospital in Balasore, Das has never compromised when it comes to catering to the needs of his patients but has also managed to find his love in music.

From composing music to directing and singing, Das does it all in a small studio that he designed in his house for recording songs. If need arises, Das also travels to Cuttack and Bhubaneswar for recording songs.

From working with many Ollwood singers including Chelsi and Tariq Aziz, Das has also released over 30 cassettes to his name. His latest ‘Janma Bhoomi Tu Hi Maa’- a patriotic song released on the occasion of Republic Day was a big hit among the masses.

Speaking to OTV, Das said, “Though my passion is completely different from my profession, music is in my soul and I do it effortlessly,"

“I love AR Rahman and his songs encourage me to pursue music. I generally get time during evening when I do all the music related works,” added Das.

A singer Sagarika Pati who has worked with Das in his recent release- Janma Bhumi Tu Hi Maa said, “We all love our country and we tried our best to convey that through the song.”

Das’ dedication towards his profession and love for music has been receiving applauses from people across all walks of life not only in Balasore but throughout the State.
