Bhubaneswar: The General Administration (GA) Department today served notices to Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA), Cuttack Development Authority (CDA) and Odisha State Housing Board (OSHB) seeking the Action taken report on the progress and implementation of the Taradatt Task Force recommendations on multiple allotment of plot/flat/house at Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.

In a letter to the concerned authorities, the GA Department directed them submit the action taken report in seven days.

Although it had sought the action taken report earlier, it did not elicit response from them, sources said.

“Though more than three months have elapsed in between, no response has been received from your end till date. The Chief Secretary desires to review the status of the issue shortly,” the letter read.

“It is therefore requested to take immediate steps to furnish the action taken report in the matter within seven days so as to place the same before the Chief Secretary for his kind orders. Please treat this as Most Urgent,” the letter added.

As per reports, only four allotments under discretionary quotas (DQ Quota) have been nullified in the last four years after approval of the State Cabinet.

The State Cabinet, on the recommendation of Taradatt-headed Task Force, had earlier decided to cancel allotments made by BDA, CDA and OSHB between January 1, 1995 and July 31, 2014.

Reportedly, the Taradatt Committee begun probe into the allotments following a public outcry over widespread housing scams in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.

Many influential persons including journalists, politicians and officers were allotted multiple plots and flats under government housing schemes using the discretionary quota, added sources.
