Jharsuguda: The Veer Surendra Sai Airport in Odisha will now have direct flights to Mumbai and Bengaluru. The services are likely to begin from the coming winter, informed the Jharsuguda Airport director, Kishore Kumar Senapati.

"SpiceJet and Alliance Air are operating flights to Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, Raipur and Hyderabad. We will add new destinations, Mumbai and Bengaluru in the list and hope it will help people of Jharsuguda as they are currently taking connecting flights to these destinations," said Senapati.

The Jharsuguda Airport had resumed services after the Centre's announcement for the resumption of domestic flights from May 25.

SpiceJet then resumed flight operations from Jharsuguda to New Delhi, Kolkata and Hyderabad while the Alliance Air resumed operations to Bhubaneswar and Kolkata.
