Bhubaneswar: The Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) on Friday issued an advisory to district Collectors and SPs in view of the dense fog forecast by India Meteorological Department (IMD) in several parts of Odisha.

In a letter, the SRC has instructed police and transport department officials of some districts to take necessary measures for controlled movement of vehicles on National Highways during the dense fog.

As per the latest bulletin issued by the IMD, five districts in Odisha will experience dense fog in the next two days, especially during morning hours.

Here is a complete weather outlook for the next 48 hours:

Day 1 (Valid from 0830 hours of January 9 to 0830 hours of January 10)

Shallow to moderate fog very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jajpur, Bhadrak and at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Khordha.

Yellow Warning: Dense fog very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jajpur and Bhadrak

Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hours of January 10 to 0830 hours of January 11)

Yellow Warning: Dense fog very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Jagatsinghpur, Bhadrak, Cuttack and Kendrapara.

As per IMD, there will be no large change in minimum temperature (night temperature) and it will be above normal by 3-4 degree Celsius at many places over the districts of interior Odisha and by 2-3 degree Celsius at many places over Coastal Odisha during next 3-4 days.

The minimum temperature is likely to fall gradually by 3-4 degree Celsius thereafter.

The highest maximum temperature of 33.5˚C was recorded at Bhubaneswar and the lowest minimum temperature of 14.8°C was recorded at Phulbani in the past 24 hours.
