Bhubaneswar: IMD’s regional centre in Bhubaneswar today issued dense fog alert for 11 districts in Odisha for the next 24 hours. Duty officer Charan Behera informed that the dense fog alert has been issued for Sundergarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Khurda, Puri, Nayagarh, Bhadrak, Kalahandi, Kandhamal and Sonepur district.
According to Behera, several parts of the State including Puri and Chandbali in Bhadrak witnessed dense fog today, and the conditions will prevail for the next 24 hours.

“We have issued dense fog alert for 11 districts. There is no cold wave alert as night temperature across Odisha is likely to rise in the next couple of days,” said Behera.
Meanwhile, normal life in several parts of Odisha was adversely affected following poor visibility due to dense fog.
A thick blanket of fog enveloped the pilgrim town of Puri where visibility dropped to less than 20 mts. Due to dense fog, devotees even failed to get the darshan of Neelachakra of Puri Jagannath Temple today.

Normal life in Kendrapara was also affected due to dense fog in the wee hours today.
