Bhubaneswar: Odisha will witness dense foggy morning for the next two days. But the minimum temperature may not see a sharp drop in the State till December 1.

The local met office has issued an alert for dense fog in 18 districts for tomorrow (November 28).

Districts like Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sonepur, Boudh, Kandhamal, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Gajapati and Ganjam will witness dense fog at isolated places, said an IMD release. However, the forecast predicts no foggy days by the weekend.

According to the met experts here, as the relative humidity or say the moisture content in the atmosphere in the above mentioned districts in the State is measured between 80 - 93 per cent, the long night hours along with sharp drop in night temperature and slower winds pave the conditions for dense fog there.

With the month of November on its way out, IMD has recorded a drop in the maximum temperature in Odisha. The day time temperature over most places, except in and around Gopalpur, has fallen marginally below the normal temperature. But the maximum temperature at Gopalpur is 2.5 degree Celsius above normal on November 26.

Similarly, the minimum temperature in Odisha has also started dropping below the normal temperature, except in Bhubaneswar, Puri, Hirakud, Talcher, Gopalpur, Chandbali and Paradip.

Only 7 places viz; Daringibadi, Sundargarh, Phulbani, Koraput, Titlagarh, Sonepur and Angul have recorded below 15 degree Celsius minimum temperature on November 27 (today).

The State will not be witnessing any rainfall activity till December 5, says an IMD release.
