Puri: A fight broke out between some tourists and employees of a hotel in Puri after the visitors were allegedly denied a room despite prior booking.

According to sources, tourists Sachin Agarwal, Arindam Dutt and Subhajit Ghosh had booked two 'OYO rooms' online at Gangotri Hotel from May 24 to 28.

However, after reaching the hotel, the tourists along with their family members came to know that no rooms were booked in their name.

Subsequently, a heated argument ensued between the tourists and the hotel management which later turned into a fight.

"When we came to the hotel at 4 AM they didn't even open the door and said that no rooms were available. We had booked two rooms for 3 nights and had paid advance money. They asked us to leave the place and contact OYO," one of the tourists, Sachin Agarwal, said.

After the situation went out of control, Town police officials and Deputy Superintendent of Police, Prasant Patnaik reached the spot.

While the CCTV camera footage is being investigated, sources have said that the tourists have not lodged any official complaint.

"They were supposed to check-in on May 24. However, they showed up on May 25 at 4:30 AM. A no-show notice is generally sent to customers in such cases. They misbehaved with our staff," said a hotel employee.
