Berhampur: Triggering concerns, the total number of patients suffering from dengue increased to ten at Maharaja Krishna Chandra Gajapati (MKCG) Medical College & Hospital in Berhampur.

Speaking to media, Chief District Medical Officer, Sadananda Mishra said "Though Ganjam is the native place of all the patients; they were working outside the State. However, after falling ill they were admitted to MKCG. The patients were diagnosed with dengue after preliminary checks at the hospital."

According to sources, a dengue patient hailing from Ichhapur of Andhra Pradesh had died yesterday.

Mishra further stated that various programs are being conducted across the district to spread awareness on dengue, malaria and diarrhea.
