Bhubaneswar: A delegation of Sikh community led by Punjab's Lok Insaaf Party MLA Simarjit Singh Bains held a meeting with the representatives of Odisha government in Bhubaneswar on Monday and accepted that there was a misunderstanding over the demolition of Mangu Mutt in Puri.

As per reports, Odisha Minister of State (Home) Dibyashankar Mishra, Former Works Secretary and Chief Administrator of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) and MLA Pranab Prakash Das held discussions with the delegation.

Following the meeting, Bains accepted that there was a misunderstanding regarding the eviction of the mutt and said that the Odisha Government has assured to fulfil their demands, including renovation of Mangu Mutt, Punjabi Mutt and Bauli Mutt.

Bains also hailed the Odisha Government for Puri beautification project.

“The Mangu Mutt issue has been peacefully resolved. They assured us to renovate the mutt under the beautification plan. There is no misunderstanding and it will strengthen the relationship between Odisha and Punjab,” Bains told the mediapersons.
