Bhubaneswar: Odisha School and Mass Education Minister, Samir Ranjan Dash on Thursday said that the decision regarding exams will be taken after reopening of schools in the state.

Speaking to the media, Dash said that Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has already announced that schools will remain closed till Puja holidays.

"As the holidays will continue till October-end, the decision of reopening will be made taking into account the COVID-19 situation," said Dash.

On conducting exams, the Minister said, "Once the schools are opened and some classes are conducted, it will be appropriate to decide on the same."

After reviewing the COVID-19 situation, CM Naveen on Wednesday said that schools and colleges will remain shut till puja holidays in the State.

The decision has been taken to allay fears and apprehension in the minds of students and their guardians about the prevailing situation, he added.
