Decapitated Body Of Man Found On Railway Track In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Decapitated body of a man was found on railway track near Lingaraj Road Station in the city on Monday.The deceased, identified as Sushant Sahu (42) was a habitual drunkard, family sources said.  Although the reason of his death is not clear, family members said he might have jumped before moving train under the influence of alcohol.

"He was a very nice and affectionate person. I love him very much and have never got into quarrel with him. But, the major cause of concern for me was that he used to consume excess alcohol everyday. I suspect he might have taken the extreme step due to inebriation," Chhanda Sahu, wife of the deceased said.

Sushant had left his home at 10 pm after having dinner but didn't return. His family members who searched him till late night were taken aback to hear the news in the morning. A florist by profession, Sushant has been survived by his wife and 15-year-old daughter.

Meanwhile Government Railway police (GRP) reached the spot and seized severed body and head from the track. The body has been sent for post-mortem. Further investigation is underway, GRP said.
