Rayagada: The mystery behind the death of a 4-year-old girl in Rayagada a few days ago took a new twist today after the deceased’s mother was found lying in an unconscious state a few meters away from the spot where the body of the girl was recovered.

As per reports, body of a 4-year-old girl from Samadola village under Ambadola police limits was recovered near the village pond on March 13. After the locals informed the matter, police seized the body but it remained unidentified.
Under shocking circumstances, the deceased girl’s mother was found today barely 100 metres away from the same pond in an unconscious state with her hands and legs tied.

Police and fire brigade officials recovered the woman and admitted her to Muniguda hospital. Later,she was shifted to Rayagada district hospital as her health condition deteriorated.

“We got very worried when my brother-in-law said he had no idea about the whereabouts of my sister and his daughter from last 3-4 days,” maternal uncle of the girl, Suresh Maldora said.

Police have intensified the probe into the incident after the identification of the body of the girl by her uncle today and recovery of her mother.

However, Bissamcuttack SDPO Chandrasekhar Hota said search is underway to capture the father of the girl who has been missing since the day both the woman and the girl went missing.

Bissamcuttack SDPO Chandrasekhar Hota said, “We are searching for father of the deceased. After capturing him, we can trace the links associated with the case and uncover the truth.”
