Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government today extended the deadline for admission into Plus II courses in the first phase at different junior colleges by two days, informed School & Mass Education minister Samir Ranjan Dash today.

“Due to technical glitches in server the government has decided to extend the admission dates by two days. As per the decision, the admission will continue on July 8 and 9,” added Dash.

Earlier, the deadline for admission was July 6. The first merit list was published on July 2. The second merit list will be published on July 12 and admission of selected students will be carried out between July 12 and 16.

On July 22, the final merit list of spot selection will be published and the admission of selected candidates will be conducted between July 24 and 26.

Only after the completion of three rounds of selection process, the classes for the 1st year students, selected into the respective courses, will commence from July 29.

The admission process will be carried out for around 4,51,000 seats in 2,041 higher secondary schools (earlier known as junior colleges) across the State.

A total of 3,97,125 students passed Matriculation examination conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha this year. Apart from this, thousands of students from other national boards like ICSE and CBSE have also applied for admission into the Plus II courses in the junior colleges in the State.
