Puri: Amid concerns over question papers going viral on social media during the Matric Examinations in Odisha, lapses have already begun to surface just a day before the commencement of Plus II exams in the State.

According to sources, despite steps to ensure strict surveillance, two CCTV cameras have gone missing from the Panchayat Junior College of Education and Technology, a Plus II exam centre in Satpada under Krushna Prasad block of Puri.

As per the statement of the college principal Bhanumati Pradhan, some unidentified miscreants have decamped with the CCTV cameras installed in classroom number 1 and 5.

The matter came to light after Pradhan lodged an FIR at Satpada police outpost today morning. After being informed, police have launched a probe into the matter.

On the other hand, the principal has assured that the incident will not have any impact on the examinations beginning tomorrow.

“The college authorities are all prepared to conduct the exams as we are sure to reinstall new cameras. Tomorrow a total of 59 science stream students will appear the MIL paper at the centre,” the college principal said.
