Paradip: The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) showcased its prowess and combat capabilities at 'Day at Sea' programme held in Paradip sea today. The event was organised by ICG headquarters here in commemoration of its 43rd raising day and Coast Guard Week celebrations.

The ICG officials demonstrated various skills and warship operations in deep sea. Five warships including Sujay, Vijay and Sarojini Naidu exhibited their capabilities and skills while participating in the demonstration exercise.

A Dornier aircraft also took part in the show today. Besides, rescue operations taken up by the ICG during natural calamities and other emergencies, relief distribution methods and war skills in deep sea were other attractions during the event.

The ICG also demonstrated how it keeps surveillance in the sea and coastal areas and checks the illegal activities through its regular patrolling. The ICG will celebrate its raising day on February 31.
