Keonjhar: The administrative authorities of the famous Tarini Temple in Keonjhar on Monday announced the decision to close the shakti shrine on weekends in view of restrictions enforced by Odisha government for Covid-19 pandemic.

The constraint which means that public darshan will not be allowed at the temple on every Saturday and Sunday will remain in force until further orders.

The decision came shortly after the State government announced to clamp weekend shutdown restrictions at all urban centres of the State from April 24.

The temple administration has made Covid negative report mandatory for devotees and tourists visiting the shrine from outside of Odisha. People having completed their two doses of Covid vaccination can also produce relevant certificate for entry into the temple.

People from any corner of Odisha can enter the temple by showing necessary identity proof.

Usage of mask has been made mandatory and people coming to the temple without any mask will be barred from entry, informed the temple trust board through a press meet.

Offering of any kind of puja items will also not be allowed in the temple.
