Puri: Continuing the crusade against corruption, senior leader Damodar Rout once again launched scathing attacks on the State government and the Nimapara BJD MLA during an anti-corruption programme organised in the constituency on Sunday.

Rout raised allegations of corruption against the local MLA and claimed that the legislator has been involved in a large number of irregularities in several development works in the area. This apart, he targeted the ruling-BJD government over corruption and maladministration.

"Whoever is involved in corruption is being given protection. This is what we have felt. People involved in criminal activities and rape are being protected. And those who raise voice against corruption are being thrown out of the party," alleged Rout.

However, the concerned officials and the local MLA are yet to respond on the allegations levelled by Dama Rout.

On the other hand, speaking on the formation of his new regional party, Rout stated, "I have sent a few representatives to New Delhi to meet the Election Commission and discuss with him on various aspects related to forming of the new party. In the next two days after they return, a final decision will be taken in this regard."
