Bhubaneswar: Senior leader Damodar Rout on Monday blamed BJD leader Arun Sahoo for ruckus during former's public rally -Baripada Samavesh and said that he would have to visit Sahoo's constituency, Nayagarh, to take him to task.

Rout alleged that the BJD MLA hired a person to create ruckus during his public meeting out of fear.

"Arun Sahoo had sent the person to create ruckus. He (Arun) was there in Mayurbhanj for two days prior to my meeting. People were sent to each block in the region to spread the news that I would not attend the samavesh. Arun Sahoo did so to appease his godfather," said Dama.

While Sahoo refused to comment on the allegations brought by the expelled BJD leader, party spokesperson Pratap Deb said that Dama is suffering from some health issues and he needs to take medication.

"While 10,000 people were scheduled to attend his meeting it's surprising that one person spoiled everything. What type of organisation he (Dama) is having there? He has lost his mind and he must take immediate treatment," Deb said.

"It was a sponsored act to embarrass and belittle the image of our guests. The youth was hired and sent by the BJD leaders," alleged Baidyanath Mahanta, one of the organisers of the samavesh.

The youth, who allegedly tried to create ruckus during the meeting, also dragged former MP Baijayant Panda's name and alleged that Rs 800 crore electricity bill was pending against the former parliamentarian.

Later, terming the allegations as an act of political vendetta against him, Panda had said that he had earlier refuted such claims and as the general elections are round the corner, such frivolous allegation was raised again with political motives. He further clarified that he is not involved in any type of corrupt practices.
