Daily Covid-19 Cases Drop Below 100 In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha capital on Monday witnessed a significant drop in the number of new coronavirus cases with 91 persons testing positive for the viral infection in the last 24 hours.

As many as 63 of the total new cases are local transmission while the remaining 28 are quarantine cases, said the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).

With this, the total number of confirmed cases in the capital city climbed to 28694 including 2142 active cases and 26377 recoveries. The death toll in city stands at 154.

Earlier in the day, Odisha witnessed a record low in new infections with 1480 new positive cases in the last 24 hours. The total case tally in the State touched 282695.

The death toll due to coronavirus reached 1259 as 14 more patients succumbed to the infection in the last 24 hours, the State Health and Family Welfare Department said.
