Cuttack: The arrested gangster brothers - Sushil and Sushant Dhalsamant have once again become a major headache for the Commissionerate Police.

It appears that the duo notoriously called as D-brothers are still operating their entire crime syndicated from behind the four walls of the prison. Moreover, they seem to be controlling the illegal arms racket at much ease which was evident after 7 firearms and huge cache of ammo were recovered from their residence at CDA in Cuttack on Thursday.

The hoard of armament was seized following a raid on the gangster brothers' residence by a special team of Commissionerate Police. Notably, the arms and ammunition were found stuffed inside a wooden box and concealed in a secret chamber.

Carrying out further raids, the Twin City Police on Friday seized additional five weapons and over 500 more rounds of live ammunition from different parts of the city.

Both the gangster siblings Sushil and Sushant were arrested in 2016 and huge cache of arms including a sophisticated carbine was recovered from them following a search at their Cuttack-based residence.

“As per legal point of view, the case must have been registered against 25 and 27 Arms Act. As a citizen, I urge police to conduct an impartial probe and massive crackdown should be launched on the illegal firearms which poses a threat to the lives of citizens,” said senior advocate, S Mohapatra.

Meanwhile, senior officials of Commissionerate Police said that a blueprint is being prepared to nab the associates of Dhalsamant brothers who are helping the duo keep their criminal empire alive.
