Cuttack: The commissionerate police on Thursday served notice to Sanjay Behera, secretary of Football Association of Odisha (FAO) and four others for interrogation on their alleged links with the Dhalasamant brothers.

The notice has been served on the FAO secretary to appear before the police within seven days for interrogation, Cuttack DCP Sanjeev Arora said.

“Besides, notices have also been served on two corporators of Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC)— Chiranjay Sahu and Ranjita Biswal— and working president of the erstwhile Cuttack Nagar Yuvak Sangh Sambit Behera to appear within three days for interrogation,” he added.

The DCP said the FAO secretary had close links with Sushil Dhalasamant, younger brother of Sushant Dhalasamant. “They were very good friends. They were in a joint business in 2010,” he said.

Though Arora did not reveal the nature of the business the duo was having, he confirmed that Behera would be interrogated on this matter.

It may be recalled that Behera, son of secretary of Odisha Cricket Association, Ashirbad Behera, was frequently attending the blood donation programmes organised by Sushil Dhalasamant.

Apart from Behera, police has also served notice on CMC corporator Chiranjay Sahu to appear before the Chauliaganj police within three days. Police served the notice to Chiranjay after his return from Hyderabad on Wednesday.

“We have also served notice on another CMC corporator of ward no-7, Ranjita Biswal and former office-bearer of Cuttack Nagar Yuvak Sangh, Dipu Ghosh to appear before the Chauliaganj police within three days,” the DCP informed.

Considering the criminal activities of these aforesaid persons and their alleged links with D-brothers, it is certain that the police will arrest some of them in the coming days, sources said.
