Bhubaneswar: The Regional Meteorological Centre has warned of thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and intense rainfall at one or two places over 16 districts of Odisha. People in all these districts have been asked to remain alert till midnight.

As per the latest forecast, the alert has been issued for Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Puri, Khurda, Cuttack, Keonjhar, Rayagada, Mayurbhanj and Nayagarh districts.

In very of severe cyclonic storm Titli, the Met department informed that the sea will be rough to very rough over Bay of Bengal and along and off the coastal areas during the next 24 hours. The fishermen have also been advised not to venture into the sea.

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said around three lakh people have so far been evacuated from the coastal areas of the state in view of Titli.
