Bhanjanagar: Six persons including four of a family went missing after their house got swept away by flood waters of Adangi river following heavy rain triggered by very severe Cyclone 'Titli' in Ganjam district today.

The shocking incident was reported from Bhutapankal village under Gajalbadi panchayat in the district.

According to preliminary reports,  six persons including four of a family- a couple and their son and daughter-in-law along with two other persons had taken shelter on the roof of the house when the tragedy occured.

All of them went missing after the house constructed under Indira Awas scheme got swept away in flood waters of Adangi river following heavy rainfall in the area.

After the incident was reported by OTV, Ganjam Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange immediately swung into action and directed officials for rescue operations.

However, the ongoing rescue operations were affected due to inclement weather and heavy rain in the area.
