Cuttack: Gitanjali Sahu, wife of Narayan Sahu, the suspect serial killer behind the three brutal murders in Cuttack last month, has demanded Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the matter on Thursday.

Challenging the ongoing investigation into the serial murders, Gitanjali has moved the Court of Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC), Cuttack. Claiming that her husband has been falsely implicated in the cases, she requested the Court to supervise and direct the CBI to probe it.

“CCTV footages of my husband’s presence in the village and in Bhubaneswar are available. Besides, we have also several other evidences to prove that he is innocent. Police have falsely implicated him after taking bribe,” alleged Gitanjali.

Narayan’s counsel Byomakesh Tripathy said, “We have evidences that Narayan Sahu was in his native village in Nayagarh district when the crimes took place in Cuttack. Even CCTV footages are also available to make this point clear. However, police allege that he was in Cuttack. Protesting this, my client's wife has requested the court today to supervise the case. We have also sought CBI probe into the matter to find out the real accused."

Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissionerate Police had arrested Sahu, a resident of Sunamani in Odagaon of Nayagarh district on July 29 on charges of murdering three homeless persons in Cuttack within 24 hours on July 23.
