Culture varsity students lock main gate

Bhubaneswar: Students of the Utkal University of Culture (UUC) on Wednesday locked the main gate of the varsity demanding fulfillment of a host of demands.

The students alleged that they resorted to the action due to non-fulfillment of their demands despite assurances given by the UUC authorities.

A proper library, provision of study material, musical instrument and placements were among the major demands of the agitating students.

Earlier, the students had tried to draw the attention of the varsity authorities by staging dharnas thrice.

Meanwhile, a discussion was going on between the varsity authorities and agitating students till the filing of this report.
