Kalahandi: Vigilance sleuths on Friday raided the residence and office of an engineer of the Soil Conservation department on charges of amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

The official has been identified as Dhananjay Dhoba, who is currently engaged as engineer in Jalachayam project under the Soil Conservation department.

According to sources, separate teams of Vigilance conducted simultaneous raids at the residence of Dhoba at Siriguda and Ramanaguda in Rayagada and his office in Narla. Similarly, the anti graft officials also conducted raids at the Satsang Vihar Jayguru Ashram in Siriguda.

Vigilance sources informed that the value of the property seized is estimated to be more that Rs 1 crore.

"Simultaneous raids were conducted at the residence and office of the engineer on charges of amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income and further probe into the incident is on," Rayagada Vigilane DSP, Sushanta Kumar Biswal said.
